HR POSITION!


R & W Group is seeking HR candidates with a focus on benefits for one of our favorite law firm clients! The position is located in the firm’s Washington DC office. The primarily responsibilities of this role will be providing administrative/benefits support to the Benefits Manager, as well as to the firmwide HR department in a variety of tasks. Candidates must have some general office experience and HR/HRIS experience is preferred. Also preferred is a college degree. Candidates must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding department information and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.

Job Duties:

  • Acts as central HR contact for benefits questions from assigned locations. Fields benefits questions from other offices as needed.

  • Creates benefit files for assigned locations. Maintains benefit file checklist to ensure that all forms are completed and returned to central HR and the carriers by the deadline. Reviews benefit elections for assigned locations, enters elections in HRIS, works with carriers on enrollment (and dis-enrollment), as needed.

  • Assists with creation and distribution of email change forms; Audits dependent eligibility and works with HR Generalists on dependent terminations and issuing of COBRA notices.

  • Assists Firmwide Benefits Manager with ACA tracking and mailings, as needed; Assist with administration local benefits ordinances

  • Updates benefit carriers with address changes and name changes on a weekly basis; Processes incoming verifications of employment for various offices.

  • Maintains benefit files for assigned locations, including up-to-date filing.

  • Assists with the maintenance of the HR forms wall for local office. Ensures that all forms are up-to-date.

  • Updates monthly benefit changes spreadsheet for use in reconciliation of premiums for assigned locations. Keeps premium payment file up-to-date for review by Director of Benefits/CFO.

  • Updates EOI file as requests for increased life insurance are processed by UNUM. Communicates changes to payroll and to affected employee.

  • Assists with annual 401(k) meetings on site, including planning and scheduling as well as distribution of materials. Assists with annual retirement plan audits as needed.

  • Assists in the creation of exit folders for assigned locations (works with payroll on obtaining final check, determines PTO payout, creates COBRAs, etc.).

  • Assists with updates to firmwide benefit materials as needed.

  • Reconciles and creates check requests for assigned premiums. Assists with other premiums as requested.

  • Assists with annual Open Enrollment process; Acts as backup to other central HR team members as needed; Assists with all general HR duties as assigned or required.
