Database Administrator!
Are you a Database Administrator? Do you have law firm experience? Would you like to work with a premier law firm in DC? If so, one of our favorite clients is looking for a DBA. In this role, you would design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases applications while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for supporting business database applications including accounting, CRM, and workflow software.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
Devise, develop, and deploy required data queries in response to business user needs.
Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
In conjunction with data owners and department managers, develop data models and protocols for mining production databases.
Acquisition & Deployment
Conduct research, assist in evaluation, and make recommendations on various software products.
Operational Management
Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user needs.
Create queries of on-premises database applications and cloud-based data using the appropriate APIs
Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones.
Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity.
Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels.
Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices database use.
Develop and program routine scripts in a common programming language.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or related discipline and 6+ years equivalent work experience.
Knowledge & Experience
Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers, including extensive knowledge of SQL.
Experience with web-based databases both on-premises and in the cloud.
Hands-on database application troubleshooting experience.
Experience with accounting software databases & document management systems; Elite 3E and iManage preferred as well as Intapp products
Programming experience preferably including some web development and Windows Powershell scripting.
Experience with Windows Server and VMware.
Project management experience.
Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Involvement in inter-departmental projects and experience communicating with various stakeholders.
Law firm experience preferred
